Request for Proposals: Window Conservation (Phase I)

Notice for Bids

Historic New England requests proposals from qualified preservation firms for the conservation of 24 wood windows and the repainting of 19 shutters at Beauport (Gloucester, MA). Project is funded with assistance from the Massachusetts Preservation Project Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission, Secretary of the Commonwealth, William Francis Galvin, Chairman and by the Save America’s Treasures administered by the National Park Service, Department of the Interior. Beauport is a National Historic Landmark. All work performed must meet the “Secretary of Interior’s Standards” as well as in accordance with the documents prepared by the owner. Bid requirements can be obtained by contacting Jodi Black at 617.997.5580. Bids will be evaluated on price, previous experience, schedule, and references.  Bids will be accepted until Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 4:00PM. State Law prohibits discrimination.   


Please note that their will be a required pre-bid walk through of the site on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 10:00AM.  A representative must attend the pre-bid walk through in order to become familiar with the particular conditions of the site. Directions are included in the bid package.
